Icons : Sydney has some iconic landmarks - the skyline with the bridge, Opera House and Luna Park are recognised the world over. They are a lot of fun to shoot, but the challenge is always to put a slightly different slant on the shots that the world is used to seeing.

Illumination : Dawn is the best time of the day to shoot. More often than not there is no one else around to experience the first light. It is quiet, peaceful, and the variations of colour continue to surprise me as not only can it change daily, but almost by the minute. A scene can be transformed from something very average to something incredible in next to no time. It just takes persistence and luck.

Reflections : Light and water are fantastic themes, and the two of them together can create some beautiful images. Simply utilising the surrounding light can create something really subtle, or something incredibly strong.

Signs of Decay : Cockatoo Island is well known by Sydneysiders. With a lot of history (by Australian standards at least), a great location and access to so much, it is a gem for photography.
